Lecture Series Volunteers

Behind The Scenes:

Thank you to all of our amazing volunteers who make this community event possible! Our planning team started work this past spring with the task of determining the topics and speakers for the series.  A list of over 40 topics and speakers was developed from which the finalists were determined by vote.  Once the final list of topics and speakers has been confirmed, the publicity team kicks into high gear.  It is their task to communicate to the general public about each lecture.  On the day of the event, a group known as the “Tiger Team” sets up the chairs, welcome the guests, assist the speaker with A/V equipment, and help with cleanup. A hospitality team provides guests with coffee, tea, and freshly baked cookies.

Looking for a way to get involved and give back to the community? Become a Friends of the Salish Sea volunteer as hospitality guide for the lecture series! Help make the lecture series a success by assisting with set up, welcoming in guests, and  cleaning up after the event.
